Year 1 Apple Class
Curriculum Information PowerPoint - Autumn 2021
As promised in the St Lawrence Post, we are now pleased to send you a link to our St Lawrence YouTube channel where you can access the Curriculum Information Presentation for your child's year group.
The Curriculum Information presentation will be followed by a 'Get to Know You' live video session with your child's class teacher during the week beginning 18th October. Apologies that this date is slightly later than originally stated, but we need the extra time to resolve some minor technical difficulties. This is your opportunity to have an informal chat with the teacher in a group video link, as well as being able to ask questions arising from the Curriculum Information Presentation. We ask that any questions are emailed to the class teacher direct, in advance of the 'Get to Know You' session: email@example.com
Apple Class Update
Dear Apple class parents,
Apple class have had a fantastic couple of weeks. They have been working hard in all lessons, but I am especially proud of their hard work practicing our Harvest Festival.
Maths: In maths we have been thinking about numbers bond to 10, and using the part part whole model to see the total of two numbers. We have used our arms to make the addition and equals symbols. Next week we will be moving on to subtraction.
English: In English Apple class have been writing a letter to their teddy bear to say thank you for coming to our picnic. We focused on capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We also worked hard to use our phonics sounds when writing unknown words. Next week we will be making a memory poster which will include all the wonderful things we have done this half term.
Topic: In science we focused on our five sense and the parts of the body that we use in relation to our senses. In RE we learnt about the creation story within Christianity and we designed our own world and thought about what we would want within it.
Apple class have worked so hard this half term, adjusting to a more structured way of learning and I couldn't be more proud.
Thank you to all Apple class parents and carers again for your ongoing support with your child’s learning – it really is making a difference.
