Open Morning Dates - School Tours

School Tours

We are now pleased to give prospective new parents updated information about our school tours. We have revised the dates and times but can now confirm them as below:

Monday 5th October – from 5.00 – 6.00 pm

Saturday 17th October – from 10.00 – 11.00 am

Tuesday 3rd November – from 4.00 – 5.00 pm

Thursday 26th November – from 6.00 – 7.00 pm

Our school tours will look different this year due to Covid restrictions but we are still very much looking forward to meeting prospective new parents and showing them our school.

First of all, parents wishing to join a tour will need to phone the school office (01372 452870) and book an appointment. Please note, due to the restricted number of places available, we request that only one parent/carer per child books a slot. Unfortunately, we will also be unable to accommodate children on our tours. Each tour will have a cap on the maximum number of visitors, with each tour group then being separated into smaller groups of less than six. We have added a Saturday to the dates we are offering this year and hope this will give a wider range of parents the opportunity to come and visit our school.

Please note, as well as following the ‘rule of 6’ restrictions, we also require all visitors on our tours to wear a face covering when entering our school site.

Visitors who are booked for a tour will enter the school via the gate to the playground on Effingham Common Road at the allotted time to be greeted by a member of staff who will sign them in. Once everyone has arrived the group will make their way to our school hall for a formal welcome and presentation.

Our Head of School Mr Tom Dell, Assistant Head Mrs Helen Addison and Head of Early Years Miss Jenny Skilton, will then each lead a group around the school showing them the school building, the classrooms and our fantastic outdoor space. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of any of the Senior Leaders.

We will ask our visitors to complete an on-line feedback form after their visit.

Although we are restricting places to one parent per visit in the first instance, parents are invited to ring the school office the day before to check if there are any vacant places available.   We would also consider adding more dates if we find there is a demand. We will update this web page if the situation changes.

We strongly encourage any prospective new parents to attend one of our school tours as we feel that showing the school and its grounds in person alongside hearing from and meeting our Senior Leadership Team face to face is the best way to learn about the quality of education at St Lawrence and what makes us special and unique.
